Updates!

Wow! So much has happened since my last post!

I quit my job at AeroParts, Ramses changed jobs, and the biggest news - we moved to Pennsylvania! We decided we needed to move out of the house in Rio Rancho, so with me out of work and Ramses being able to transfer his job at DirecTV, we opted to go big! Ramses' siblings, cousins, and mom all live in PA and we realized it was an opportune time to relocate. We moved at the end of May.

It was an adventurous 5 day drive to get here. We stopped in Texas and spent a little time with Amy and her family, which placed us square in the midst of tornado storms for a few days. Not my favorite thing in the world, but we made it through safely. Once we arrived we stayed about a week and a half at Ixmucane's while we found our own apartment. We now live in a one-bedroom apartment in Hatfield, PA.

The saddest thing for us was making the choice to leave Pepe behind in New Mexico. We knew finding a place out here that would accept 3 dogs would be extremely difficult. We also knew that Dad and Pepe are great together and Dad graciously agreed to taking him in. We miss his so much, but we know he is happy with his life with Dad and Mary.

Winky and Darla have adjusted to the changes here. I think they miss having a backyard. Luckily our apartment building has a dog area right outside the back door, so they get to play with other dogs every day. They LOVE the grass and green and we have a great walking trail nearby.

It has been great to get to know Ramses' family. They had a welcome home party for us the day after we arrived. I have awesome in-laws!

The job thing didn't work out like we had planned. Once we arrived, Ramses was told that they didn't have a position available right now. He went to work with his brother, Josue, for a few weeks. It was back breaking work installing gutters. They worked 6-7 days a week, 12+ hour days, in ridiculous temperatures. Luckily Ramses found a great job at a local company called Penn Color. It is entry level, but pays more than his last job and has great growth potential. He is still in training, but once he gets to his regular shift he will work Sun-Thurs 11pm-7am. The really awesome thing about it - it is 1.5 miles away! He likes it so far, and even made friends with a guy named Moses.

Our new ward is fantastic. They have been super friendly and welcoming. No callings yet, but we are ok with that for now. However, we have both spoken in church, I taught RS, and we taught a Sunday School class last week. We also have home and visiting teaching assignments already.

Well, that's all for now. I will do my best to blog more often!
